How to search for imagery
Search for an Area of Interest (AOI) by specifying either:
- a search term with the Search bar,
- a point of interest with the Marker tool, or
- a bounding box of interest with the Bounding Box tool
- a polygon of interest with the Polygon tool
- a polygon of interest from a file with the File Upload tool
a search will begin as soon as your AOI is specified
You can also refine your search by specifying the range of dates imagery are captured with the "From" and "To" inputs at the top of the page
After changing these settings, the search button will re-run your search with the updated criteria.
Resolution options
Imagery resolution is taken as a minimum accuracy or Ground Sample Distance (GSD) for a result to be valid.
We use the following values for common resolution requirements:

Viewing Results
The list of results will be available in the left sidebar beside the map, listing a variety of information.
- A thumbnail of the imagery which may be clicked to show it on the map, see "visualizing scenes" below for more information
- The date the imagery was captured
- The imagery source/supplier, as well as its resolution/GSD.
- The estimated time to fulfill and deliver the imagery if ordered.
- The base price for the area of the scene to be delivered.
Under the " More information" heading you can also find.

The reported percentage (%) of the scene that is cloud obscured.
note: this is the percent of the whole scene, not necessarily your search area. - The suppliers identifier for this scene.

The area of your AOI within the scene.
note: this area may have been expanded to meet the suppliers minimum order, see "visualizing scenes" below for more information -
The percentage (%) of your search Area of Interest covered by this scene
note: as point searches have no intrinsic area, "-1%" will be displayed for this case.
As well as any warnings or annotations for the scene.
Visualizing Scenes
While hovering over an item in the results list, you will find an overlay on the map indicating some useful information.
The green polygon indicates the bounds of the scene as a whole.
The
red polygon indicates the area to be delivered if the scene is ordered (area matching your AOI)/
This polygon will not be present for free imagery, which instead delivers the whole scene.
For additional context, clicking on a scenes thumbnail in the sidebar will draw a low resolution version of the scene on the map
This can be helpful for identifying if the required portion of the scene is occluded by cloud.
